Top 5 Buy Low & Sell High Moves in Dynasty Fantasy Football

In dynasty fantasy football, it’s important to make moves for your team in a timely fashion. Moving too fast or too slowly to trade a certain player could backfire, so knowing the true value of the assets on your roster is extremely beneficial.

Let’s go over two players who should either be traded for or traded away in dynasty fantasy football. These moves could put you one step closer to championship contention, so don’t be hesitant to pull the trigger!

Buys

Breece Hall (RB, NYJ)

Jets running back Breece Hall is a major buy going forward in dynasty fantasy football leagues. According to reports, the fourth-year star out of Iowa State made it very clear before the trade deadline that he wanted out of New York, and despite the fact that this wish was not granted, it still remains very clear that Hall will not be a member of the Jets organization in 2026, which certainly improves his outlook in dynasty formats.

Over the past few seasons, we’ve seen several productive running backs sign with new teams in free agency and turn in career years as a result. Names like Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs, Rico Dowdle, J.K. Dobbins, and Javonte Williams come to mind when discussing this. It’s not hard to imagine Hall adding his name to this list in the near future once he becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

The dual-threat running back has accumulated at least 1,300 yards from scrimmage in each of the last two seasons, excelling as both a rusher and a pass-catcher. He’s also averaging nearly five yards per carry this season and has still contributed to this offense in multiple phases despite the lack of stable or consistent quarterback play. Breece Hall could easily become an offensive centerpiece in a new and more productive situation if he gets the change of scenery he desires by way of free agency.

Overall, Hall is a superstar running back with proven production and talent who is displeased with his current situation. He would benefit from a new situation and could have a transcendent year in 2026.

Hall isn’t currently perceived as a clear top-10 running back in dynasty fantasy football, but that could easily change if he leaves New York. Trade for him while his value isn’t at its peak.

Rashid Shaheed (WR, SEA)

Right before the trade deadline, Seattle made a trade with New Orleans that could make their passing attack even more explosive than it already is. The former New Orleans Saint was dealt to the Seahawks in exchange for a fourth- and a fifth-round pick, immediately adding him to one of the best offenses in football.

Shaheed is known for his speed, which frequently opened up the downfield passing game in New Orleans over the past few seasons. This could help expand things offensively for Seattle by adding a new element of quickness to their offense.

Shaheed also reunites with Seattle offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who served in the same position in New Orleans last season. It’s a fair assumption to make that Kubiak was likely involved in the decision to trade for Shaheed, which could mean that the fourth-year wideout could see playing time early on.

The 27-year-old has the chance to make a somewhat instant impact on his new team, especially with the recent questions regarding the health of other wideouts in Seattle’s wide receiver room, such as rookie Tory Horton and veteran Cooper Kupp.

Overall, I am a massive fan of this trade for a few major reasons. Quarterback Sam Darnold is having an electric season in his first year in Seattle, pushing out any doubt about his 2024 season being a fluke. Klint Kubiak likely has a plan ready for Shaheed in the offense, which could help him hit the ground running. And, finally, Shaheed is a talented player who has shown the ability to be a consistent contributor as a dynasty asset.

Shaheed could end up eclipsing 1,000 receiving yards this season and should be traded for before your league mates understand what his ceiling truly is.

HM. Cam Ward (QB, TEN)

Sells

Tre Tucker (WR, LV)

Don’t get me wrong, Raiders wide receiver Tre Tucker isn’t some massive trade asset who will net you a superstar or multiple first-round picks in return, but I think he is a depth piece who could potentially continue to lose value, and dynasty managers should try to trade him away while they still can.

The Las Vegas Raiders offense has been horrifically bad this season; there’s no denying that. But, early in the year, it looked like Tre Tucker was going to pull through to be the breakout star of this struggling team and light a spark in the offense. Tucker put together a 145-yard, three-touchdown performance in Week 3 against Washington that officially put him on the map as a mainstream dynasty asset. However, things have not exactly gone according to plan from there.

The third-year speedster hasn’t been bad, but the passing offense, led by quarterback Geno Smith, has not been consistent enough to give Tucker enough quality downfield targets to keep his production steady. A lot of Tre Tucker’s value early in the season was a result of favorable matchups and converted deep shots that no longer seem to be an effective part of the offensive game plan.

On top of this, it would be a surprise if head coach Pete Carroll is retained in Las Vegas for the 2026 NFL season. If a change is made, a new regime could bring a change in role for Tucker, as well as more opportunities for other young receivers already on the roster, such as Dont’e Thornton Jr. and Jack Bech.

In the end, Tre Tucker is a talented player in a very bad offensive situation. He won’t be a free agent until 2027 and could see his value diminish greatly unless things change quickly in Vegas. If he’s phased out of the offense, he will lose all fantasy relevance.

The Cincinnati product has registered 50+ receiving yards in only four games this season. If you have the chance, send Tre Tucker away in a package this offseason.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt (RB, WAS)

Commanders rookie running back Jacory “Bill” Croskey-Merritt was one of the biggest storylines of the NFL offseason, working his way up the depth chart as a seventh-round draft pick and making incumbent starter Brian Robinson Jr. expendable enough to trade before the season began.

Many dynasty managers bought into the hype surrounding the rookie, which made a lot of sense at the time. However, now that Crosket-Merritt has gotten a chance to be the lead back in Washington, it’s starting to look like he may not be the league-winner that many thought he would be.

While the rookie hasn’t been terrible by any means, his recent efficiency has been poor. He has not averaged over four yards per carry since Week 5, in a breakout contest against the Los Angeles Chargers. In the four following games, Croskey-Merritt has failed to produce a double-digit fantasy point performance, becoming almost unstartable in the process.

Trading Jacory Croskey-Merritt while his name still has significant value tied to it could be a smart move. The Commanders could opt to bring in competition at the position this offseason, which would make things difficult for the rookie’s dynasty outlook.
