Buy Low & Sell High Candidates Before Week 5 for 2025 Fantasy Football

Welcome back to another week of pure chaos in the fantasy community! Each week, you’re wondering, “Do I even know how to draft?” after a RB2 outproduces your team’s RB1 (we’re looking at you, Justice Hill).

Don’t panic, though; we’re here to help you right the ship or continue dominating your league with our buy-low and sell-high targets.

This week features several young players with stock bound to skyrocket and several “one-hit wonders” that you should sell now while managers still believe the hype.

Finding value with these targets isn’t rocket science, but it is championship science.

Buy Low

Jordan Mason

Minnesota Vikings - RB

Jordan Mason has had a strong start to the 2025 NFL season, but had a disappointing performance last week with only 10 PPR points after his massive week 3 performance, where he scored 23.6 PPR points.

With teammate Aaron Jones out until at least week 8, Mason is the lead back in Minnesota and will receive more opportunities and a larger snap count.

Mason’s dud in week 4 also came against the Steelers’ defense, one of the better run-stopping units in the league, in his first away start of the season.

Additionally, Mason has been extremely efficient on the carries he’s been given, averaging 4.83 yards per carry, which is 12th among rushers with 30+ rush attempts.

You also can’t forget the capital that Minnesota invested in Mason during the offseason, spending two sixth-round picks and signing him for two years immediately after the trade, meaning that Mason has the backfield securely in the absence of Jones.

Find a fantasy owner burned by the inconsistent week, and offer them a more reliable FLEX or RB2 option, and enjoy the increased production from Mason in the upcoming weeks.

Tetairoa McMillan

Carolina Panthers - WR

Tetairoa McMillan has shown flashes through the start of his NFL career, totaling 18 receptions for 278 receiving yards through the first four games.

McMillan has displayed his big-play ability, averaging 15.4 yards per reception, highlighting his deep ball skills and his ability to stretch the field.

McMillan has already solidified himself as the WR1 in Carolina, even through mild injury concerns to start the season.

To top it all off, McMillan is yet to score a touchdown, making his fantasy numbers dimmer than they should be.

Target McMillan, knowing that the production and opportunity are there and the touchdowns will soon follow, making McMillan a steal for his current value.

Jameson Williams

Detroit Lions - WR

Jameson Williams is coming from a disappointing week 4, where he posted 2 receptions for 40 yards, making it the third time in four games that Williams has had under 45 receiving yards.

However, Williams has been a premier deep threat this season, averaging 21.4 yards per catch, which ranks him first among all receivers with 10+ receptions.

While some concerned fantasy owners may be worried about Williams’ role in the Detroit offense being limited due to increased competition, the opposite is actually the truth.

In week 4, Williams led the Lions in targets, just failed to haul them all in due to miscues from quarterback Jared Goff and several drops.

With fantasy managers unsure of Williams’ future role with the team, many will be looking to move off of him while they still can, and that's when you move in.

Secure a high-end FLEX option and trade for Williams before he turns up and starts hauling in all his deep targets.

Sell High

Kenneth Gainwell

Pittsburgh Steelers - RB

Kenneth Gainwell found himself as the RB1 in Pittsburgh early Sunday morning, with teammate Jaylen Warren ruled out just before the game.

While replacing the injured starter, Gainwell totaled 19 rushes, 99 rushing yards, 2 touchdowns, and 6 receptions for 35 receiving yards, resulting in 31.4 PPR points.

While this monster game may look enticing to fantasy owners, it looks to be more of a “one and done” type of game, as Gainwell was averaging just 3.4 yards per carry before week 4 and had a sub 55% snap share all three previous weeks.

Gainwell also lacks a secure role in the Pittsburgh offense, with Warren soon to come back from his injury and third-round rookie Kaleb Johnson still around to potentially take snaps.

Sell Gainwell while the hype is still there and before he fizzles out into mediocrity, and grab yourself a more reliable FLEX option to rely on for the rest of the season.

Justice Hill

Baltimore Ravens - RB

Just the guy we were looking for… Justice Hill.

I alluded to this in the intro, but if you're a Derrick Henry owner (like me), you had a frustrating week when you checked your fantasy team to see that Hill out-snapped and outproduced Henry against the Chiefs.

This 28.7 point performance is a career high for the seven-year veteran, primarily scored through two touchdowns in Sunday’s performance.

While this performance is one that fantasy owners won't forget anytime soon (I surely won’t), it's not the type of play that is sustainable for FLEX production.

With Henry still leading this backfield, Hill lacks consistent touches to become a week-to-week starter, as Hill has only had ten total opportunities through the first four weeks of the NFL season.

Sell Hill while he’s still in the spotlight and play up his huge performance while highlighting Henry’s lack of production as a selling point to drive up his value.

Romeo Doubs

Green Bay Packers - WR

Romeo Doubs exploded in week 4, with three touchdown catches on just six receptions, finishing with 29.8 PPR points.

This redzone ability is what all fantasy managers are chasing, but the consistency is where Doubs is faulted.

Before week 4, Doubs was averaging 8.3 PPG, which is a low-end FLEX option in most leagues, and nowhere near the WR3 overall production that Doubs showcased on Sunday.

With rookie Matthew Golden still growing into his role in the Packers’ system, expect to see more opportunities turned from Doubs and given to Golden, minimizing the potential production that Doubs offers.

Additionally, Doubs has struggled with injury concerns in the past, even reaching the point of wearing a guardian cap in-game, so injury concerns still lurk.

The hype from Doubs’ elite performance will only carry for so long, so make sure to capitalize on this opportunity to flip Doubs for a capable FLEX or WR2 option to solidify your team.

Final Thoughts

Another week in fantasy football serves as a great reminder that timing is everything.

Whether that be late touchdowns (looking at you again Justice Hill) or one-week explosions, getting the right timing for your fantasy leagues is crucial when trying to win your league.

The time for the players I listed above is now, whether that be to sell high or to buy low on.

Remember, buy the talent and sell the phonies, and make sure to check back next week for my buy low and sell high before week 6 targets.
