Best Dynasty Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Adds for Week 14

Well, that week of Max Brosmer hype was fun while it lasted. Such is life for dynasty owners, who have to live with countless cloggers churned on and off the roster just to find a single starter. Still, we have to keep grinding and finding edges on the margins to get a leg up on our league mates.

That being said, this week may be the most sparse of the entire season thus far. There aren’t many dynasty-relevant injuries on my radar, with one notable exception, rostered players are returning from injury, and offenses are getting more and more concentrated for the stretch run.

Probably Gone, but Double Check

Darren Waller, TE, Miami Dolphins

Darren Waller only played some 40% of the snaps returning from injury, but that’s all it took for him to pace the Dolphins in receiving yards. Before his injury, he gradually ramped up to 60+% of the snaps, and his snap ceiling may go even higher if he isn’t interrupted by further injuries. This is Darren Waller we’re talking about, so that “if” is doing a lot of work.

Regardless, all competing teams should be sure to roster Waller if his owner dropped him once he went on IR. He has the kind of weekly upside missing from most of the depth tight ends in fantasy.

Waiver Adds

Dontayvion Wicks, WR, Green Bay Packers

Wicks is most likely a clogger at this stage. If it was gonna happen for him, it would have happened last year. In any case, he had a big game, and he’s talented enough to at least roster while we check out if this latest flash is for real.

All roster types should kick the tires on Wicks, but only if they’re giving up expendable pieces. He’s probably a clogger and so shouldn’t displace legitimate prospects. But I can’t ignore a 6-94-2 line under any circumstances.

Tom Kennedy, WR, Detroit Lions

Amon-Ra St. Brown projects to miss a couple weeks with a low ankle sprain. Tom Kennedy, who admittedly was not on my radar in any capacity prior to this point, immediately stepped right in with a 65% snap share and produced a modest 4-36-0 line.

I’m not about to dump a major FAAB share on Kennedy, but he’s a starting receiver on the Lions’ offense for the next couple weeks. Teams in need of emergency depth, or with deep benches, could consider Kennedy.

Deep League Stashes

Evan Hull, RB, New Orleans Saints

With Alvin Kamara going down with a knee injury, Devin Neal steps in as the starter in New Orleans. Evan Hull thus slides in as the RB2/handcuff for the Saints. This offense has been a graveyard for fantasy running backs, and Hull isn’t useful unless Neal goes down or really sucks, so only owners in the deepest of leagues should consider rostering him.

While Hull is an unexciting option, in many leagues all the handcuffs should be owned.
